how to add a footer in sharepoint 2013

the best way to add a footer on a custom or regular mater page in SharePoint 2013 is:

  1. open us your master page in SharePoint designer, notepad or in Dreamweaver
  2. go to the bottom of the .html page
  3. find the last “div” tag on the page
    1. </div>
    2. </body>
    3. </html>
  4. add this right above the last “div” tag
    1. <div id=”footer” class=”custom-footer”> this is my footer<div/>
    2. close your div tag
    3. you could connected top a custom style or add a style of your own on the new footer div, such as
    4. <div id=”footer” style=”font-size:12px; color:#666;”> this is my footer<div/>
  5. this footer will stick to the bottom of your master page in SharePoint 2013
  6. the end result will look like this
    1. <div id=”footer” style=”font-size:12px; color:#666;”> this is my footer<div/>
    2. </div>
    3. </body>
    4. </html>
